The Chapel-Fine Arts Building on the campus of Arkansas College at Batesville, Independence County, Arkansas, is visible evidence of an improvement program happening at the school. Paul M. McCain, the president of the college, led the fund campaign to raise money for new construction and improve existing facilities on the campus. The fund raisers began in 1955 with the goal of $500,000, which they exceeded by $160,000. The Chapel-Fine Arts Building was completed in 1958.
